Under 15 and under 16 youth football players are approaching adulthood and should
be capable of reviewing constructively the team's performance and when necessary,
failings. They won't be afraid to give you their opinion and you should welcome
it.
Player characteristics include:
Physical - youth football
players become much stronger and typically more competitive. They should be encouraged
to focus their strength to compete with greater emphasis from you, as a youth football
coach manager, to win. Put greater emphases on strength and aerobic exercise in
to your
football training plans.
Social - it's well known the emotional temperament of
a teenager can be fragile at the best of times. Youth football coaches should try
to help the players develop a stable temperament in game situations by coaching
players how to deal with differing opinions and conflicts on the pitch.
Technical - Players should now be able to cope with more
progressive football tactics and football training sessions focused on all aspects of the
game culminating in a strategy to win.
